DETROIT

Posted May 16th, 2012 at 11:34pm by Risky

Last week I had the opportunity to go hang out with some good friends and do some straight graff! I love doing all kinds of art, but sometimes its fun to just go bombing….especially in a city that embraces the art. Some of the local schools and powers that be organized some great walls for us. It was really cool to see some city officials come check out the action! good times! Thanks to my brotha, Revok, 1xRun and Montana for setting up our graffiti vacation! Good times!

Here’s a some of the pieces…

In between the rain I had time to fit in a quick one with Remi Rough and Solo One….It was short, but fun to catch up and lie to each other about the good old days!…Good times!….

IMG_3918I also managed to make it to the Tate Modern with some friends and check out the Damien Hirst retrospective. It was awesome, I had to snap a few shots….

We were there with the equivalent of the Vandal Squad in London, wish I had that one on film, We busted each others balls about hitting the tube and bought each other beers….Good times….This Banksy piece in the alley adjacent to the pub…IMG_3850Speaking of Banksy, I now get the full impact of his use of the surveillance Cameras…The Cameras in London were CRAZY!!!!!IMG_3855

REVOK X DETROIT BEAUTIFICATION PROJECT

Posted April 17th, 2012 at 06:14pm by Risky

This is a great project that my brotha from anotha, REVOK, has put into play. After relentless hounding by city officials in Los Angeles, Revok has taken residence in a city that needs beautification and appreciates his art. REVOK and Detroit are meant to be! It is great to see a city that embraces the arts even in the financial turmoil they are going through. I have made a few trips to Detroit over the years. The city may be broke, but it’s rich in historical iconic Americana ingenuity. I am truly honored to be part of this project.

SEEN X RISK….OLIVIA DE LA BORIE…Paris buckshot…

Posted April 4th, 2012 at 02:43am by Risky

I was recently in Paris with my friends from Citizens from Humanity. In between visiting people (dead and alive), painting, and checking out the sites, I hung out with Seen at his studio. There were many watering holes within walking distance. The more we drank the more we got sidetracked. I am still awaiting my Paris trip photos to post, however In  the meantime here are a few gems from OLIVIA DE LA BORIE….Good Times!!!

RISK …Beautifully Destroys home in Santa Monica

Posted April 3rd, 2012 at 02:37am by Risky

RISK PAINTS SANTA MONICA HOME & PREPARES SOLO SHOW……

this one

Los Angeles graffiti legend and fine artist RISK has been commissioned to paint a 4,700
square‐foot dream home designed and built by Santa Monica developer Adam Corlin.
“Painting the house is a great experience,” RISK says. “I stripped down my graffiti to its most

abstract form, with splashes of color and washes, and am applying it to a four‐story canvas.”
Corlin and RISK first met in 2011 when they teamed up for “Oceans at Risk,” a project that
raised money and awareness for the Heal the Bay Foundation. Since then, Corlin has
become an avid collector of RISK’s work as well as an integral part of “Team Risk.”

Most recently, RISK and Corlin collaborated on “Beautifully Destroyed,” a series of murals
across the United States, including a mural in Miami’s skid row and a mural in Los Angeles
for the Freewalls Project. Since the completion of these murals, RISK has been asked to
complete additional murals throughout the United States, Europe and South Africa.

“Painting the house is an extension of the ‘Beautifully Destroyed’ project,” RISK explains. In
addition to the exterior of the house, RISK is designing and painting a water feature as well
as various interior rooms.

Corlin has also teamed up with Roger Gastman—co‐curator of the Art in the Streets
exhibition at MOCA—to present a one night, invite‐only solo show with RISK. An
undisclosed buyer has already expressed interest in purchasing the multi‐million dollar
home as well as all of RISK’s work that will appear in the show.

“The city tried to fine me $65,000 last time I commissioned RISK,” Corlin says. “I was
outraged. They said if I wanted to make a public statement, I should have painted my house
instead of constructing an integrated scaffolding for the artwork. He thought he was being
clever, I took it to heart and painted my house.”

The house will be unveiled in May, in conjunction with RISK’s solo show.

MORPHIK BRAND…Launches artists series

Posted February 28th, 2012 at 11:12pm by Risky

A few months back I was approached by Morphik about participating in their artists series of bracelets. They explained it was wearable art and I was a little confused. Then they told me the line up of artists fro the project.  A few of the artist were old friends of mine and a few were some people I have a lot of respect for.  At this point I was really curious to see the product. When I saw the quality of the product I signed on. It’s pretty cool, my daughters hung them in their room and they look pretty cool! Here’s one of the bracelets that were released today….
