Last week, I had the opportunity to go to New Orleans and participate in a unique show. The show consisted of local artists who have continuously pushed to make New Orleans emerging Graff/Street Art scene what it is today. Some local “Art Enthusiast” purchased a warehouse and opened it up for the invited artists to do their thing. On the last night, they had big New Orleans style blow out. Being from New Orleans, it was an honor and a pleasure to participate….Good times…..

Last week, I went to Boston to participate in a lecture at the MFA. It was an honor and a pleasure. The panel consisted of Roger Gastman, author and associate curator of “Art in The Streets,” L.A. Museum of Contemporary Art, Jen Mergel, Senior curator of contemporary art Boston Museum of Fine Arts, Caleb Neelon, artist and author of The History of American Graffiti, and myself. We explored the history, from underground to mainstream, shifting perceptions of graffiti, from unpopular to popular, illegal to celebrated. I discussed my work, the evolution of Graffiti in L.A. and the world over. Following the panel we had a book signing where I had the opportunity to meet some local writers and discuss current graffiti issues. Thanks to everyone in Boston! GOODTIMES!!!!

Last week I went out to the MAGIC show in Vegas. Magic is the biggest apparel convention in the U.S. I’ve been attending the trade show for 18 years, 39 consecutive shows. Since I no longer do Third Rail Clothing, I’ve been attending the show in many different capacities, consultant, marketing, promotions, endorsing brands and exhibiting art. It’s really great experiencing every aspect of the show, and it’s ALWAYS a great time!!! This year I was there painting a piece that will be used and launched interactively to promote next years show. When the ad is done it will have a bar code that can be scanned to see the making of the piece. The video will also have a brief interview explaining the concept behind the piece.

The photos of the trip were submitted to PHILLIPS DE PURY & COMPANY in New York for an upcoming exhibit. The group of photos “Graffiti Tales From The Road” capture the mood and tone of the trip. This exhibit is in conjunction with POLAROID and the photos will be auctioned off with proceeds going to Born This Way and The Free Arts Foundations. We had a great time ion Chicago, we had a chance to hang with our brothers K.C. and Pose. Here is a wall from the Chicago stop….

first I had to stop at Graceland and personally apologize to Elvis R.I.P. for bombing his limo with Dream R.I.P. back in the day…
Then we stumbled into this really cool bar! It had a ton of history, and it was supposedly haunted. The bartender took us on the ghost tour, we didn’t see anything crazy, but you could definitely feel it. She told us Ray Charles as well as “all” the O.G. blues men stayed there back in the day. Upstairs was a brothel. They used to barricade themselves in their rooms for a week at a time, and shoot dope and hang with the lady’s of the night. The owner shared a ton of good old stories and showed us all kinds of crazy s%#*!!! The Stones even wrote Brown Sugar after Mick Jagger was propositioned by a black woman to go upstairs to the brothel with her.
We rocked some huge blocks along the tracks……
We stumbled across some annual Run, so we chilled in the Mad Society bar….and watched the kaos…

With help from my good friend Rudiger Glatz (awesome photographer), I have submitted an exhibit of photos titled “Graffiti Tales From The Road” to PHILLIPS DE PURY & COMPANY in New York. The photos submited capture the mood and tone of the trip. This exhibit is in conjunction with POLAROID and the photos will be auctioned off with proceeds going to Born This Way and The Free Arts Foundations. The photos submitted capture the mood and tone of the trip, however In the meantime I thought I’d post some shots of the graffiti.
It was too hot to really get busy, but we had a lot of fun….Here’s a few things we managed to hit….

Yesterday I had the pleasure of hanging with my brothas from anotha, Revok, Sever, Wane and Ces.. We painted and had some great grub! Goodtimes…
This piece will be auctioned off by Aaron Brothers. All the proceeds will go to the Boys and Girls club of America…
